Ileana D’Cruz At Vogue Beauty Awards 2014
Regardless of what you thought of the opening ceremony of the 20th Commonwealth Games I really enjoyed it. It was funny, with some not so great moments (I’m looking at you Rod Stewart),but overall it was great.
Some people seem to try and compare it to an Olympics opening, but how can you? The Olympics ceremonies, and subsequently events, has way more money to spend, besides that’s not what Scotland is about. I’m so proud that we used this stage to help fund-raise money for UNICEF (I donated!) and to promote equality (gay kissing - the majority of Commonwealth nations do not support homosexulaity).
Plus, there was scotty dogs, tunnock’s tea cakes and irn’ bru. Don’t forget the very beautiful and talent women that are Amy MacDonald and Nicola Benedetti, the epic Billy Connolly, the moment of silence for the victims and families of MH17, and the wonderful Pumeza (who sang in Scots so beautifully).
I also quite liked Team Scotland’s outfits. But people will hate regardless, but I loved it and am very proud of Scotland.
That being said though I will now stop spamming dashboards with Commonwealth Games posts. I’m just very proud of Scotland…it’s a very big year for us.
